Amusing tales from the real world where cause and effect are unexpected. The underlying mechanics are explained for each tale, but not much background is given. It is in many ways a diet version of Thaler's excellent Misbehaving; if you find Misbehaving too heavy Freakonomics might suit you better. However, if you like Freakonomics and want to learn more, Thaler's masterpiece is a must.
